Not sure if you remember me or not, I drove from Iowa with my dad back in April to pick up my puppy. I just thought you might like to know how he is doing.
He is one of, if not the best dog I have ever had. He is everything I had hoped for and more. Not only did I get a beautiful dog, but he has a wonderful temperment. He is well on his way to becoming a service dog. I am amazed at how well he deals with new situations. He is of course very intelligent and very eager to learn and work.
I ended up naming him Cruz after the town of Cruz Bay on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth (as far as I am concerned) and we vacation there every year. As a matter of fact Cruz will be by my side as we go there in February. It will be fun to see what he thinks of flying (in the cabin with me), boat rides, and the ocean.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am for this dog. He is not only helping me with my disabilities, but he also helped our ten year old Standard Poodle that had a massive stroke a few months ago. Cruz and the Poodle become friends quickly after I brought him home. When the Poodle had his stroke, Cruz would lay by his side for hours. The Poodle was in bad shape, he couldn’t even hold his head up by himself, but Cruz was there for encouragement. I am happy to report that even the vet is amazed at his recovery. He is still a bit unstable at times, but Cruz adjusts his play to fit the Poodle’s limitations.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful friend.
